Classical Connection is a summer experience that introduces various elements of Latin and ancient history to elementary and middle school students. Designed to be fun, educational, and interactive, the Classical Connection program fits in well as a segment in other summer programs. Classical Connection’s facilitators lead sessions that are as short as thirty minutes and as long as two hours. Programs are offered free-of-charge and all necessary materials are provided by our organization.
The Latin language and ancient history are fascinating topics that are relevant and valuable to numerous areas of our lives. Unfortunately, many schools today do not offer these subjects in elementary or middle school. Classical Connection leads fun exercises to expose students to areas of Classical study, such as Latin roots in vocabulary, Roman influence on modern engineering, and the influence of Ancient Rome on our country’s government.
Classical Connection's founder and primary facilitator is Roman Rawie, a current senior at St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Austin, Texas. A passionate student of all topics related to Classics, Roman has studied Latin for years and has won recognition at the National Junior Latin Convention.
